个人简介：

Pr. Michel Abou-Samra is a Researcher at UCLouvain's Institute of Experimental and Clinical Research (IREC) in the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition (EDIN) unit. His work focuses on investigating the therapeutic potential of adiponectin and its analogues in muscle diseases, particularly Duchenne muscular dystrophy & Sarcopenia. His research has significantly advanced understanding of muscle pathology and potential treatments. His contributions have earned him prestigious awards, including the 2024 "Prix quinquennal" from the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine;the “Lagast” scientific prize from UCLouvain - Secteur des Sciences de la Santé in 2019 for the best fundamental or clinical research on genetic muscle disorders and the Prize of Pr. Christian Coërs 2016 from the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine in 2017 for the best project by brilliant youngresearchers working in the field of neuromuscular pathology.
